Praia Fluvial do Agroal
These river beaches, which can be found all over Portugal, are the places the Portuguese go to in large numbers during the summer months when inland temperatures soar. These partly artificial beaches, where a constructed swimming pool is connected to a natural river, offer much-needed refreshment, rest and relaxation. There are usually a number of shops, bars and restaurants where one can find everything to enjoy a carefree day. There are also some hiking trails.
The tourist season starts on 1 July and runs until 15 September, from 9am to 7pm. Before and after, you can also explore this gem on your own and at your own risk.
